Well put Garrett and Buddy's girl. JMO Personal Attacks are just simply results of lack of knowledge. She knows not of what she speaks and in my opinion needs to stick to the subject at hand, not stoop to calling people names like redneck, hillbilly and hick. My mother is fullblooded Cherokee Indian, my father is of German Descent and has come from a long line of hardworking hill folk. We live here in 'Hillbilly' Country and are darn proud of our roots. It's because of us 'Hillbillies' and farmers that you get to eat everyday. Our vegetables, fruits and meat products are what you eat for dinner. We also, and Im proud to admit, partake in eating froglegs and snapping turtle among other types of game. We actually have a snapping turtle currently being cleaned out so that we can butcher it and fry it. It's a common eat, among other wild game in our area, but ya know what? Im proud to say I share a heritage between two important cultures in america, one of which is almost gone, except for a few scattered natives across the U.S and the other one which is still very vibrant but hidden for the most part in the lower parts of the U.S. So yes, I am a Hillbilly and I am proud of my american heritage. So you shouldnt be cutting hill folk down but instead thanking them for your food everyday. It's our Cattle, hogs, chickens and vegetables that go to your table everyday, our hardwork of harvesting crops that we painstakingly plant for your consumption. It is very insulting that you would call us names and condescend us. I love both parts of my heritage, my native side and my hill folk side. Although I do not currently practice my native side, I do and have for years learned as much as I could about my roots and where Ive come from and in doing so have delved deeply into Western American History all together. I have many books on Native cultures as well as Outlaw biographies, guns of the time periods and many others about the american west ranging from 1840- 1898.
But anyway back to horseslaughter, I believe staunchly that it should be a part of our society, simply because it is needed.
