Default Do's and Don'ts on the trail

What are some things you never do or always do on a trail ride with others?

Never allow our horses to get their way and always try to expose them to something new

Drinking alcohol... Drinking and horses never mix. I saw a horse get beat to death on my first trail ride when I was a kid. Long story short, the people had been drinking and things got carried away.

I never tie a horse with my reins !! On rides I always have a halter under the bridle !! I make my own reins with snaps on both ends and it doubles as my lead rope !!

I always carry a spare pack of cigs, and extra lighter, coffee and some sort of snack. Plus my cell phone. Just never know what will happen on the trail...
