Exclamation Need Help!

Okay, I need help selling this mare I trianed. She is a quarter horse mare, not registered but she could of been, ( previous owner could of done this for about $25 I think). Bella is five years old, 14.3 h.h. and $650.
She has a super smooth trot and canter and is great on trails, cosidering that she was first being able to be ridden in August. She is super sweet and loveable and her mother My Little Mae has won numerous barrel racing awards. I have gotten some intrest in her but no takers, some help would be very appreciated.

Well for one thing the first sentence is not something that would make someone interested in her !! "broke to ride but not for a beginner" !! That would indicate to me that she doesn`t know anything !! Then you said she would be a good "second horse" depending on experience !! What happened to first horse ?? And I don`t mean a beginners horse ?? Also if the dam was a good barrel horse, give some info on her !! Tell what she won and such !! I would re-do the ad and and use more positive wording !! Advertise her as a barrel prospect !! Has she had any road miles ??? Leave all the negative things till someone calls about her !! Then be as honest as you can !! When they call, ask them what they are looking for and ask about the experience level of the rider and then tell them if the horse is one that they should look at !! Its your responsibility as seller to try to match horse and rider !! That gives you a much better reputation as well as security for the horse !!

Mart is totally right for your advertising!

Once you get this far......

Please think of this as well: People who are caring and honest about the animals they sell, just might be too critical of the prospects that they have for sell.

Give honest info that as a seller you can stand behind on each horse you are selling, let the buyer try them out and see if it is indeed a match.

Give that buyer a chance.

The chance the buyer gets should be in a semi public forum or a friend or two of your own should be there to protect your integrity and honest dealings...AND...Always Video the experience of the horse being ridden by the buyer to cover everyones Butt!

If the buyer becomes anxiuos about having a video taken while they try the horse out, assure them that it is for them to be able to view how their first ride went and to be able to view how the horse tracked and responded to their cues. This way they will be able to make a more informed decision for their purchase.

Common sense!

If you are going to advertise her as a barrel prospect..... ? .... why not take her to do some barrels? and see how well she can actually do this deed? MOST people will not even look past prospect... they want to see facts on a horse. what has it REALLY
DONE.. they want to know what they are actually buying.
if its a prospect.... what makes you think its good for ...... ? ...... because shes hot? fast? runs fast with no stop?... think as a buyer would think in reading your ad.
You are best to leave out prospect...... and state what the horse can and cant do. ties? loads well and stands quietly? stands to tack? and mount?.... good stable manners?... rides well? that type of thing.
prospects are for dreamers.......... and yes, there are many of those..
>>.they are called tire kickers. :)
