Even if her horses are registered, not broke they are not worth much money. When you say not broke, I assume that you are meaning not broke to ride but are they halter broke, gentle or wild as march hairs?
If your horses is dead shot broke, it is worth as much or more than both of hers together at their ages and not broke. Be very careful because at their ages they might not be something you would want to tackle breaking. The older a horse, the harder it is to break especially if it has never been handled alot.

Also keep in mind that you will be feeding two horses that you can't use right away vs. one horse that is broke. Around my part of the country, Apps are selling for more than Paints anyway... I breed both and I always sell my Apps really fast. And as stated above, the older a horse is, the harder it can be to train sometimes... not always but since you dont know these horses, it should influence your decision a bit.

Good luck with your decision.

Exclamation Who is this woman??

Please be careful who you do business with!! Some people will trade horses to get rid of stolen horses. Tania Matte of Strong, Arkansas bought two of my horses but her check bounced. She will sell or trade horses that do not belong to her so she is not caught with them. TRUST ME!!! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!! Please make sure that the person you are dealing with is the rightful owner of these horses

I will throw my 2cents in too......... dont. Just dont. Offer to finish her horses so she can ride them as well as she would yours.......... or sell her yours outright. Let her sell hers and then come for yours. Why....would you even consider selling a broke horse for an unbroke horse?-- unless there were a substantial amount of additional
money involved.?
At best....... 90 days to get them under saddle riding well....... but well enough to sell to ? novices? by then you are already in the hole... different thing if you are
being offered something workable for you but I dont see you being in the positive in this offer.
There are horsefolks *everywhere* trying to trade out horses they cant ride for ones they can ...and trying constantly to find some sucker to go for the deal. I honestly get an email or two EACH WEEK
........... remember...even free can be too expensive.
good luck

my 2 cents. i traded a broke horse for an unbroke horse but you have to be careful,, luckly i love the horse i traded for i traded a 17 year old quarab gelding. for a 19 month old belgian/warmblood filly. but i was only asking 500 for the horse. if i was asking more NO NO NO i would not have done it.
yoru choice. honestly i dont like paints ive found them hott headed and difficult. breaking one now with friend she works mostly cuz i have 4 horses and its at her barn, kicked her with both back feet one in the upper chest and one below the chest. shes pretty sore. and she didnt even do anything he just went in turned around kicked her turned around and stood over her knowing what he was doing. and he bucks ext. and the paint i trained a few years ago was good @ first for like a year! then started rearing at you. then when you caught him he was fine then he would try to corner you and kick you... if you got past that he would kick at you while you tried to get on.once i got onhim while he was bucking and rearing and calmed him down but if you got past his feet kicking at you the second you landed on his back you had about .6 seconds to get your feet in before he reared up as high as he could wobbling back and fourth, he reared so high once that my sturipps came off. cuz i was riding english,,, it was crazy. i didnt fall but didnt have sturipps either, and it wasnt just the in the saddle hes do it bareback too. and if these attemps failed hed just lay down and try to roll overyou... idk your choice just thought id share.
