For example in my opinion.. for breed ( Since being raised around QH's) I think a good and sound roping, barrel, cutting, reining Quarter horses are still worth alot. For color - perlinos, buckskins, duns, cremellos, palominos, blk/wht paints. for gender - geldings for age - 6 up to 15 so just out of curiosity I want to know what everyone else thinks what breed, gender, color ect. of horse is still selling for alot |

About the only thing selling good around here in any breed is a beginner or kid horse. They still bring good money. Other than that about all that is selling good are winning performance horses. Everything else is selling dirt cheap.

They are still holding good here !! People here for the most part did not drop prices when the slaughterhouses were closed !! They held fast and eventually the few that had something to sell got what they wanted for them !! The exceptions are the less than quality horses !! They run $300. to $500. Older kid broke horses go for $1100. to $2500. Quality, started, young horses $900. and above !! Trail horses are $1200 and above !! Ropers, barrel horses and such start at $2500. depending on the horse and level of training and go up sharply !! Keep in mind that these are private sales and can vary week by week !! Horses at sale barns are still dirt cheap but ,,you get what you pay for !!

The market is really dead here unless really, really broke. I have sold only four this year and practically gave them away. At least they all went to good homes. Right now, I have a man interested in 5/6 of my horses. Will believe that when I have money in hands. I sold a triple registered stud colt for $650 dollars, a giveaway. We just keep hoping the market with take a swing for the better.
