Default Christmas Heelers

If I have calculated correctly, my female will be in season just about right for a litter to be ready to go at Christmas time.
Wanted to let everyone know far enough in advance for their Christmas shopping plans.

I do not plan on docking tails as this goes against the breed standard. However, if someone does want a puppy and does insist on docking, if they will tell me male or female puppy I will have theirs docked. But I can't guarentee puppy color at docking age. My female is blue and male is red so I expect a mixed litter.

My Christmas Heelers are right on schedule. Mom is in heat now.

Just a reminder to all. Nothing says Merry Christmas like a bouncing baby Heeler.

Sorry to burst your bubble but puppies are not reccomeded for Xmas gifts. Its the worst time to ever give a puppy as a gift.

Sorry, I am an advocte for adopting and helping rescues. Both my aussies are rescues.

Chocolate and Poinsettas are very posionous for pups/dogs and that is what Xmas is all about.......

People are out to make a quick buck at the expense of an innocent animal.

I think Equinemom meant that parents giving children puppies, lovers giving each other puppies, etc.

Could be, but these are working dogs !! Not the best match for that scenario !! And I am sure the purchasers would be screened slightly to insure a good home !!

I'm sure they would! But let's face it...at Christmas, every kid is looking for a puppy. And what do mom and dad do? Get the puppy (usually a lab or variant of) which is also a working dog...4 months later, dog goes into the shelter. It's sad, but happens every year.

Hey, if you screen the people, work out a deal, etc. by all means! But enough breeders simply do not do it and the dog winds up being the victim.

Actually Heelers made excellent pets. I have a "house heeler" myself.
But the type family you are describing does not shop for a Heeler and will not be my customer base. The type that buys a Heeler knows exactly what they want and what they are getting.

while I have taken in plenty of strays over the years and believe in doing so, people that want a certain breed usually do not go to a shelter to find it.
Trust me, I won't be sitting on the WalMart parking lot with puppies in a box. So I guess it's your bubble that has burst all over you.

Actually, it's illegal to sell anything in front of the Wal-Mart....so if you happen to see anyone doing it, notify the management. They'll be sure to get rid of them.
