Default Looking For Frizzle Chickens

I'm looking for some Frizzle chickens to add to my flock. Do any of you know where I might find some or know of a breeder that has any?

Thank you!

A frizzle chickens feathers look like he has been caught up in a tornado. The feathers go every which way and are more of a fluffy type. They are a smaller breed chicken and lay little eggs. They are adorable and are friendly. We had a bunch last year. I would recomend Murrys Hatchery,i think it is in Iowa. They have a web site where

Actually, frizzle is a variety. I think you're looking for Frizzle Cochins though. Any breed can have frizzling.

I don't know of any breeder specifically, but there is another forum that has SEVERAL breeders of bantam cochins that have had frizzles pop up and are now breeding those as well.

ReverendRider --- if you want to attempt it --- there is a lady that sells frizzle eggs on Ebay. You go to Ebay and type in the search "Hatching eggs." I almost bought some --- but I have enough banties --- and hers look small --- so I am assuming they are also in the bantie category.

Thank you so much for the replies, gang!

I did get some Frizzle chicks from a friend whose son works for a feed store the next county over from me. I got three chicks- one is a barred rock cochin rooster and his two sisters. One of the little gals is a black and tan and the other little girl is a black and gold, very pretty! You are so right about their personalities- they are so friendly and so very sweet! Every time I open the cage door they jump right out and onto my lap for feed and cuddles.

My hubby fashioned them a house made out of an old Horseshoe's Secret bucket that I filled with hay.Every night I see them all huddled up in it looking as cute as can be!

Glad you found some frizzles --- our chick days do not sell them in our area. I almost purchased eggs to incubate --- but since the chickens are so small --- I decided against it. They are cute though --- and I have also heard what you mentioned --- they like human companionship. Good luck with them and post a picture if you can.

You can check them out at Cactus Rock Farms

Thanks and Congrats on your new chicks.

rbamterry, do you guarantee your chicks/eggs through shipping? I am really interested in purchasing some. Also, we too have a horse named Star! I am mostly thinking of getting some cochins. Also, do you know of anyone selling bearded silkies?

I should have asked, do you even ship to Indiana? I suppose I could find someone closer, but I liked the looks of your place, and the animals all seem very well-cared for and healthy.
