Default My chicks

Well I have been incubating since the middle of January and here are some pic's of what I got out of my eggs. Not posting all, just some of my favorite. I tried letting my hens sit, but poor girls their babies keep disappearing, so I am building them a brooder area.

AWWWWWWw!!!!!!! Aren't they just precious!!

There's just something about the smell of new baby chicks. So sweet and innocent and those little fluff balls are hard to resist, aren't they? :)

What kind of chickens do you have? How many? I finally got some chicks again---I used to have silkies, buff orpingtons, barred rock, leghorns, black austrolorpe---I think that's it. Now I only have a barred rock rooster, a barred rock hen, white rock hen, buff orpington hen, and a cross between a rhode island red and buff orpington hen. I had to have surgery just a little over a week ago, and my husband thought we shouldn't add too many new animals at the time----we got them at the beginning of May. I'd love to see more pics. of yours, though!

Wink Cute!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cute little fur balls. I have neighbor chickens laying over here all the time. Finally got my big dogs from hurting/killing them. My beagles are another problem, especially one. I cannot hurt hardling anything anymore. Found a Timber rattler in road Friday night. Still alive and he couldn't get off the road. I stopped and went back and used my big umbrella to get him off to the side. Not certain if he made it or maybe a hawk got him, at least I tried. Anyhow, they are so cute when they are little.

Don't yall just love to them? I started raising chickens about 5 years ago and I'm hooked. I have had over the years 21 different breeds so far (always trying new ones) and my favorite has to be the Silver Laced Wyandotte. Now, I raise those and Black Minorca, Red Sex Link, Brown Leghorn, White Leghorn, and have just started 3 new breeds. The Turken (Naked Neck, Black Australorp & Dark Cornish. Me personally, I don't too much like the Brown or the White Leghorns. They are too nervous and flighty. I am going to just sell out of those and raise a different breed. So, what is everyone else's favorite breed? Here are some pics of some of mine.
