From what I have heard, most are charging a $1.00per mile round trip because of the price of fuels now.
Not sure up in your area, but diesel has hit over $4.00 a gallon here.

hey Wranglin
try the bullitin board at billings livestock, there are a lot of horse traders that run from the west coast to billings every month for the sale. also AA transport runs that way twice a month they halled a horse for me last fall from billings to N.california It was 650 or 750 I cant remember but I think they were charging 2.00 per mile then. A direct route to oregon would be less miles. |

If you check around you can get some good deals. We just 2 months ago shipped a horse from, Illinois to Maryland. I t cost the guy $450. I also shipped 1 to California last year. They charged the owners $500. It just will depend on who is going where and when. :)
