If the hot sauce doesn`t work paint the gate with that clear corn syrup and sprinkle cayenne pepper on it !! You can either hang the milk jug or throw it on the ground whatever your horse likes !! If you hang it just be sure that whatever string you use is easily broken !! In case he tangles up in it !! The pacifier that I am talking about is just a roller thing that you can hang in a stall and its made of compressed feed that is a little sweet !! As they lick it , it rolls so it lasts a long time !! Looks like a big donut !!! I have seen them in magazines !!

Hey Mart it looks like the hot suace might of helped. I did get a new gate and covered it with the fencing so maybe that will work too. I also put the milk jug on the ground for him. I'll keep you posted. I think I'll get a pacifer or some type of toy so he doesn't go back to eating the water bucket.

well so far so good, the fencing over the gate seems to be doing the trick and he loves having the milk jug on the ground to play with.
