Default God was watching over my blue heeler Bo today!!!

This morning I got in my car and headed out of the driveway my blue heeler Bo has a tendency to bite tires and try to herd the cars back in the driveway. I felt the first bump in my car I thought it was a rock the kids keep throwing back in the driveway but when the second bump happened I knew it was not the rock. Looking in my rear view mirror I saw my beloved Bo running to the barn. I had actually ran over him with two tires what a mess I was. Husband came out and we got him and took him straight to the vet. You will not believe it but he has a sore hip and a bruised rib after all the test the vet took. He is so timid tonite not himself for sure.

Anyway I am so glad somebody was watching over me because I dont know if I could have handled killing my beloved boy BO.

Thats my scary story for the day wow what a way to start one.

Oh, I hope he is ok. You too.
I'm sure the Vet told you, but watch him closely. Especially, drinking/urinating.
My father-in-law ran over my Dane, she had internal injuries that were visible a few days later. Kidney damage.

Well, thank God for that blessing --- maybe now he will think twice about biting tires. Wish I had been so lucky --- got up this morning and went to feed --- 7 out of 8 ducks that lived on my lake have been someones dinner --- still trying to catch #8 --- but she is to scared. I wish they would have kept going into the coop --- but they quit that several months ago and I have not been able to get them back in there since. The lake froze so solid that they became easy meals I guess.

I am sure someone is going to think I was wrong for not penning them up at night --- but they are ducks and if you have ever owned any --- they can be stubborn.

something like that (bo) happened to me before .... Healers are tough as nails..

Dot (my blue healer ) got pushed under a dually truck .. by another dog that attacked her when she was just minding her own busniess... he (the guy in the truck) hit her with both wheels .. front and back .. and never stopped .. the jerk.. ..

Dot ran straight to me crying .. and luckly we were already on our way to the vets .. she had about the same injuries as bo .. but dot got a broken pelvis.. so the vet sent us home with painkillers and a minimal activity order (haha a non active blue healer ...) that was when she was three shes 6 now .. going on seven .. and i have had her since the day she was born . =)

dunno what i would ever do without her =)
its so hard not to get attached to your healers lol =)

There's your Christmas miracle! Maybe he will get over the tire thing now, I doubt it though, those healers can be slightly stubborn

Totally understand the order for being non active on a heeler. He has been actually pretty good and laying around on the round bales in the barn and not coming out as much until I get home then he wants to come in he never wants to come in that much so maybe he knows he needs to be calmer. I sure hope this helps with his herding the car fetish but I am sure I may have to figure something out on that once he gets better. Also my vet told me the same thing on watching him eat make sure he is urinating drinking water and keep an eye on his temperature.

So glad that he's okay! Talk about a Christmas miracle!

I have a Blue Heeler/Australian Shepherd Mix and he's tough as old nails. He's stubborn as all get out too. When he was 4 months old, he decided to try herding my Paint gelding. Well, my gelding was not so enthused at the idea and kicked him what I thought looked to be hard. Knocked him flat out on his side out cold. He came to a few moments later and hauled it fast for me to come take care of him. Since he's in the yard for the most part during the day he doesn't get the chance to herd much. But every time my gelding goes by "his" fence, he sure tries. He's six now.

Here's a pic of him. *Smiles*
