It's kind of like he knows what to expect, in a way. I went to school the one day and got a text message when I got on the bus, man I about had a heart attack. It said, "Razz fell in the creek. He's okay, but really muddy and stink." The first thing that came into my head is his legs, then his neck, then his belly. What if he'd landed wrong? What if he did something to his neck? What if he drank the water?!! We got down the driveway and I jumped out of the Explorer, almost literally, and ran to check him. WOO! Stink, he did. Our creek isn't suitable for anyone to drink out of, sewage actually runs into it. Though, it's diluted from the actual water, but it's almost as bad. I had a royal hissyfit when I smelled him. I declared he was getting a bath. I also though I was going to use the basketball court to create crossties and give him a bath there .. well, not so much. My Aunt couldn't get the second part of the hose down, so, POOF that plan went up in the air. I asked my Mom to hold him while I washed, she agreed. I brought him up to our house closer to my Aunt's garage [where the cars are parked] and had my mom hold him there. Mind you, my Mom's not exactly assertive with him, she's been buffaloed quite a bit. I hit his feet first, because the hose was cold. He sidestepped, I told him whoa and he stood still a little bit better. My Mom had told me to pull out the Sunsilk. I didn't have any Mane & Tail, all I had was Cowboy Magic Greenspot, and that wasn't about to take off all that .. yuckiness. So, that's what I got. I sprayed him down, got a good deal of the ick off and then put a small amount of Sunsilk on him and washed him down. Then, he smelled like a girl's hair. LOL Talk about hilarious! I threw his neoprene fly sheet on and let him dry. It was great! After the first bout of diarrhea, I wormed him. And it was really good, he got a heck of a lot better. Wasn't losing weight nor was he gaining any. We were in good shape. I called up my farrier, he was about two weeks past due because I had been trying to get ahold of the dang guy to get him to come out. I said how he wasn't letting anyone ride him, and he said he'd help out. He came out about five days later and tacked him up. With a Buena Vista saddle. He got up on him and the little shit didn't do anything. No buck, no rear, no kick, no ANYTHING. Jeez o pete, then I got up on him and after Ray had led me around for a couple rounds, I walked him by myself. I was nervous and anxious, but I got him going and he did great! I've ridden him very little in the past two weeks, but yesterday, Easter Day, I decided to ask Kalysta [3 years old] if she wanted to ride him. She's been asking to ride "Razzamatazz" lately, and I decided what the heck? I was really bored and had nothing better to do. I brought him up to the porch and tied him there while I went to get my saddle and saddle pad. I tacked him up and Myron put Kalysta up there. Her grin just made my day. She was smiling from ear to ear. I must've asked her five times within thirty minutes if she wanted to get off [she's just a short thing and he's about three times bigger than her] but that didn't bother her one bit. She held onto the saddle horn and man ... she just LOVED it. I finally coerced her to get off with the promise that I'd get her a cookie to give to him. I tied him back to the porch for untacking, after Kalysta had fed him, and Kaydance came over. She's 4 years old and she's a girly girl. She goes, "Can I ride Razzamatazz after he's done eating." He was just eating grass and I didn't want him eating too much, anyway, so I said, "Yeah, you can ride him now, Sis." I put her up on him bareback and she curled into the fetal position. I led him around for maybe five minutes and said I was going to get my saddle, my Aunt told me to forgo that and just wait for another day. I agreed, he was breathing heavily anyway. It was amazing, he knew just how gentle to be with them, which is something I can't understand. He's the most amazing .. ornery .. goofball .. loveable horse I know. ♥♥ I'm very happy to have him!

Thank you, very much. It's much appreciated.
He's come so far and so have I. He's taught me a lot about horses and especially patience. ;] I do know that I'm blessed in owning him. When the saying goes "When I count my blessings - I count my horse twice" - I count him ten times over. He's helped me through a lot.
