Default my wifes horse

well my wifes horse joker died yesterday and we dont know why either. the night before when i feed he was fine the next morning when she went to go to the barn he was lying down and was dead. he wasn't but 8 and was in good health. UTD on his shots we wormed him regular i dont know what happened. no changes to his feed or schedule plenty of grass water is fine he just died.

And by the way he proably one of the prettiest apps i have ever seen. he also hated me i think he was jealous of me and the wife.

Have you had any lightning over night? That may be a possibility. Or, the old stand by, he colicked and twisted or who knows. I am sorry for her loss, I just went thru it not long ago, but mine was plenty old enough.

no we havent had any lighting and i dont know why he would have colicked nothing has changed in the last 3 years.

Sorry to hear of the horse passing, so sad have you done a necropsy?, ususally I do not just bury and say a prayer that the horse was in no pain.

Did he do any cribbing, chewing of wood because of bordom, He could have gotten a splinter and punctured a intestine. We think this is what killed a stud of ours and he was only 4. I had even treated he stall to try to control the issue and made sure he got out into a pasture more often. I checked on him one day and the next day found him dead. Thats what the vet told us he thought it was. Just a thought any how. Sorry for the loss.
