Let me see if I can find a picture of him when we first got him.

I had to go way back to find those pictures.
I would love to see some pictures of how he looks now and how he is doing with your son.

We bought him last Monday and were hoping to try him out this weekend but all it has done for 4 days is rain. He definitely is a social thing. We first had him in a paddock with another gelding we have been treating for an absess in his ear. He was doing good until we had to put our other gelding in a stall. They can still see eachother but "Trooper" as we call him prefers to be with other horses. He is very light, closer to cremello than golden. I saw the photo of his father who was gorgeous. He is on the slender side still but once he gets used to his surroundings and knows there are plenty of horses here to bond with, he'll put on more weight. When it dries up I'll take some photos. What really got our attention and made us want to get him was his laid back disposition. There were horses in line for the sale and one freaked and jumped backwards into Trooper. He just stood there so calmly with this kid on him. Then when they went in the ring anther boy jumped on the back and Trooper could care less. Not sure how much he knows under the saddle. He didn't seem to neck rein real well but we can teach him that. Can't teach him that disposition though. I'm sure he and my son will bond and become best buddies. This is our 6th and hopefully our last horse for a while. Now everyone in our family has a horse of their own.

If you keep him up in a barn, he will get gold again. We would keep him up during the day and turn him out at night. He was totally white when we got him and when he started shedding he was white and gold and my son named him twinkie. He said that he looked like one because he was getting gold and his belly was still white like the inside of a twinkie.
He will do great for your son. He was always very laid back and loved people and other horses.
