4j, its COMMENT.
The earth hasn't been AROUND for 40,000 years. Scientists say so, but being a Christian, I know its not that old.
I also, come from Indian descent. I am directly related to Pochahontas on my mother's side and Cherokee on my father's.
Is there a scientific study that shows that horses can't love. Because thinking so is not 'disney' at all.
Horses can love. You can say the opposite but that is not true. Instinct is DIFFERENT then feelings.
I too, used to live in the South. But I wasn't an idiot.
I CAN debate the facts. I HAVE debated the facts. You choose not to acknowledge that fact.
Horses didn't come to North America until Christopher Columbus brought them over in 1492. So no, that was NOT 10,000 years ago.
Also 4j, I'm not a HYPOCRIT. I didn't say that I could save every horse, that is impossible and unreasonable. This horse was mentally unstable. But instead of being purely evil. It was humanely put to sleep, which is what all horses should have done as an alternative.
Buddysgirl- its TRUELY
Gaited rocky- the Buffalo wasn't important as a companion and helper in war, as the horse was. They may have held it sacred but they didn't value it as they did the horse. I didn't say it wasn't as important OVERALL. It didn't have the same values. They also hated to kill one. They would pray for forgiveness afterwards. They wouldn't mistreat the animals. They used every part of it.
Buddysgirl- the horse meat isn't going to go to feed homeless and starving people. It's not there is no profit from it.

Are you serious??? Lol!! OMG!! The earth has been around far longer then that according to fossil records. Im not here to get into a debate over religion. Too each theyre own. I know what I know from the fossil record and Natives did come over here 40,000 years ago and horses were here up until 10,000 years ago when they went extinct from the continent and were reintroduced.

Lol Garrett Thanks! I will! It's gonna be good

HM-MMM........Very interesting

I am also a Christan and as such try to use the brain that GOD blessed me with in a rational manner.

Just as I am sure that I was created by GOD and saved by the death of Jesus, I also know that there has been evolution on this little piece of dirt we call home.

Horses, Evolution and Transitional Forms, Equid Evolution over 58 million years

I too am a redneck women and proud of it!!! And I am also a single parent( for 16 yrs) who has raised my kids without food stamps or state aid. They are both marines and a daughter in law also a marine. I am 50 and can/do out work most of the people, young people, in this hick town. I am not in debt and own my stuff. I work 7 days a week, 355 days a year. Redneck or not we all love our horses and pets, a common ground.
No there is no profit in giving horse meat to the starving but food IS given to them everyday thru food kitchens etc...the horse meat would be greatly appreciated and if it were allowed, I would give the meat to them instead of putting a perfectly good horse in the ground to rot. Once the life has left the body it is just the suitcase and should be consumed like the horses, buffalo and lets not forget the mules(who did all the work in the first place).
I agree that horses are not loving animals, they survive and may like their people but they would trade you up for another if the food was better. There is no loyalty in horses. But opinions are like assholes, we all have them. And this forum seems to have one to many.

Buddysgirl,

Thank you sooooo much for the sacrifice your children have made for my freedom!! and thank you for raising productive members of society despite the challenge you had!!

My nephew, who I raised, has decided to extend his contract with the Navy and deploy to Afghanistan with a Marine sniper team, he is a field medic. I think he is going to be attached to 1/23.

Thanks to all of the families of our service members for the sacrifices that you endure while your loved ones are deployed.
