A theory or system of social organization that advocates the ownership and control of industry, capital, land, etc... by the community as a whole. The stage following Capitalism in the transition of a sociaty TO Communism. I was asked the definition not long ago by a young person and decided to look it up to make sure I got it right! I did! DOES THIS LOOK FAMILIAR TO ANYONE OR AM I NOT HEARING AND SEEING THINGS RIGHT? IS THIS TRUELY HAPPENING IN AMERICA? Loaded Question isn't it?! |

Yes, Westmar, this is happening in our country and has been creeping up on us for some time. I just heard on our news this a.m. that it is illegal to purchase wine and transport to TN. This law is like 90 years old. Now you would think a law that old should be removed but they still think folks here should buy wine here so the State will not lose revenue or get a license that cost $450 to transport wine over state lines. Do we have any rights anymore? I'm beginning to wonder. I believe in trying to keep revenue in our state yet laws like this in our country are absurd. Where oh where are our rights going! Good subject.

YouTube - Ronald Reagan's Farewell Address http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeYscnFpEyA A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader. Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, February 12, 1779 Man, once surrendering his reason, has no remaining guard against absurdities the most monstrous, and like a ship without rudder, is the spot of every wind. With such persons, gullibility, which they call faith, takes the helm from the hand of reason and the mind becomes a wreck. Thomas Jefferson, letter to James Smith, December 8, 1822 On every question of construction carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed. Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823 An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation. John Marshall, McCullough v. Maryland, 1819 Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. Noah Webster, An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, 1787 A popular Government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: And a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives. James Madison, letter to W.T. Barry, August 4, 1822 Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism. George Washington, Farewell Address, September 19, 1796 He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself. Thomas Paine, Dissertation on First Principles of Government, December 23, 1791 I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death. Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 1, December 19, 1776

We no longer have a say in our lives. All our rights have been taken away. We are taxed until we can no longer make a living.
We are supposed to be the strongest Country in the world but we are falling. One reason for that is we are not allowed to help ourselves. Work alittle overtime only to find that 50% went for taxes. Buy a older model vechicle and get taxed. Just think how much it would help if they would quit double and triple taxing things. I pay taxes on my trash pick up, this is stuff (trash) I already paid taxes on. I do realize some of this is at a state level but I am lumping it all together because I think it all should be stopped. |
