Default Slander~ want my attorneys name and number?

Just a quick note, by mentioning someones farm name and location and then saying bad or untrue facts about them can and WILL get you sued for slander. By saying*******farms or stables is dishonest and/or not to purchase fro them is considered slander in Tennessee and you can be sued for it. Just be aware that by "venting your fustrations" you can actually be sued for slander if you g to far, people do it everyday. I almost got sued because I told a few people that Firestone Tires was dishonest when I thought them tried to rip me off and I actually had to go to court for it for slander........I learned the hard way! So just be careful and not take it to far!

How do you sue someone for slander? I have someone that is writing pages about us that is untrue because she cannot deal with the horse, she blames us, not herself and her riding. She has written so many letters to a complaints board, then to other people and even set people up to email us and try to set us up to see if they can trap us! Can you believe anyone has this much time and anger???

What to do, anyone? Frustrated in NY

There is a slight difference between slander and bad publicity. Most likely it's the riders fault but there are those out there who will knowingly sell a bad horse. If you are saying bad things about someone or a farm just be able to back it up prove that the horse was bought in good faith and you paid for something the farm promised but didn't deliver, and the slander suit can turn back to bite them. In Utah though I swear you look at someone wrong and you can expect to be sued for $5,000 but then again we are our own special little planet out here :P

I think this person has way too much time on her hands !! I think I would send her a gift certificate for riding lessons. LOL Maybe that would solve the problem !!!

I agree, anyone that has the time this lady does needs a life, or something to do to help others. We are trying to run a nice little family horse sales and boy oh boy...has she got her guns out for us!

Familyequine.. I gotta say,, I went to your website and the pic with the blue roan would make a great Christmas card if you just threw in a little snow !! Keep in mind I am a Texan and sometimes our sense of humor is a little warped !! (Good looking horse by the way!!) So if you go out of the horse business, you might make it in greeting cards !! LOL PS. Looks like a nice place !!!

Unfortunately I must add my two cents here....hopefully someone else will do a search for "spottedsilly" or "CrescentMoon farms" before they buy...Angela has lied and from all the searches I've found on her...she's pretty much a horse trader...she leads you to believe she's selling "family" horses....baloney! She lied about her vet saying he confirmed the age of the horse she sold me...I called him directly and everything she said was NOT what he said, somehow I trust the veterinarian and not this lady. My horse she sold me is 12-13 years old...she swore he was 7 and played dumb...she said she bought him from the original breeder that she and her were good friends, now she has no idea who she bought him from...this lady LIES...she's just selling horses...I would not touch any of her horses with a 10 foot pole other than to rescue them from this terrible situation.

Please save yourself....I would try to sue her, but she has no legitimate job and has moved (hmmm...thinking her moving probably has something to do with all her illicit deals) but atleast this poor horse has a lifelong home and family that will give him good care...just rack this one up to BUYER BEWARE!!!

Tara
