My vet refuses to have an opinion on putting an animal down. I understand that. My farrier, also a friend, thinks its probably time. I may contact Iowa State to see if I can donate her. Maybe they can help her, or learn something about navicular from her.

If it were me I would not let her go to be guinea pig. She has served already. But maybe it would help others...

In fact, I have spoke with the universities. She will be euthanized within a week and they use her primarily post-mortem. The way I see it, if she has to be put down, some good may as well come from it. It helps me feel better about the whole thing.
