start him out slow and work him about 1/2 hour at first and see how he does and if that goes ok just start working a little longer till You get him were You want him but start him slow

If the vet says that you can ride him, then start back slow on him. More than likely, if it has been two years and it was only a pulled shoulder then he should be fine. Start with light riding and slowly build up to longer and harder riding and see how he does. If he does fine then start him back on light pattern work and see how he does. I am assumeing he was your barrel horse.
When you ride him do lots of long or extended trotting. Make him move out in a fast trot not a lope. This will get him back in shape quicker than anything.

I would do at least two weeks of just walking before you trot him !! Those muscles need to get used to your weight first !! And if he has more problems,,it wouldn`t add additional injury to that muscle !! And don`t let people ride your horse !!

the one with a hurt shoulder a friend messed him up when it was kinda wet out side we told the guy not to run him but he didnt listen but today we found out it might not be his shoulder. casey the one we just put down the vet said it could be in her Geans or it could been west nile but shes had her shots he said the was she was acting it could be 2 differnt things.but he said when she fell and cut her leg on the trees from the power line she could hit her head to make her go like she was. yeh i know it sounds like im hurting them BUt im not casey was old anyways . trust me i wont hurt a horse u have no ideal how me and my dad fusses over them like i say there hurt dad would say no but im allways right so hes got where he just says okay call the vet Plez dont think i hurt them cause i dont<
