My 83 year old aunt did this a few years ago when she found a Copperhead curled up under her kitchen sink. She put a biscuit pan over him, plugged in her iron and set it on top of the pan. She cooked him to death, then threw him out. I thought this was pretty ingenious of her. She is not squeamish about snakes either. She'll chop a snakes head off in a heartbeat (not black snakes of course).

Default Snakes in TN

Hey Mart! We only have four poisonous snakes in TN. Timber and Pigmy rattler, Copperheads and Cottonmouths. They say the latter is not in our area. Yeah!! With all this water, nothing would surprise me and they are very agressive. Only seen the Timbers here. There are several websites where you can ID what you have in your area.

I know the ones we have !! Only rattlers we have in this part of Texas is timber rattlers !! It just surprised me that ours are so much darker than yours !! Could just be the pic though !! And there could be subspecies of the same snake !! I can pretty much guarrantee that you have cottonmouths if there is a hole of water big enough to float a turd in !! At least thats what they say around here !! LOL

Thumbs up Well!

I have a lot of holes with water right now, but no cottonmouths. Timbers do have various color variations depending on habitat and area. Still think they are beautiful.
