Default New horse maybe....

I think I have my Bella sold, if she is, then I have my new horse picked out. She is a finished reiner and cutting horse. She has been a broodmare for the past couple years, but is plenty young and perfectly sound to get back into it. I won't show pics until it is a done deal, but I'll share her pedigree. If I buy her, I can't afford her and her unborn baby, so I'll take possession of her, winter her here, bring her back to them for foaling and weaning.

Never mind, there is a discrepency in which horse it is, I'll get her pedigree up tomorrow. I go see her this week and will get pics then.

She is sure bred to do anything, great bloodlines there. Good luck in getting Bella sold and getting the new one.

Great lines there !! Speed and cow on top, good working lines on bottom !! At least its a pedigree that is equal to your horse !! Just in a different way !! Is it riding good?? Or is more work needed on it ?? Why are they selling it ??

She hasn't been rode for a few years, but this spring his son was bringing the mares in from the pasture and hopped on and rode her bareback in a halter. She was broke to death and finished in cutting and reining. They bought her as a broodmare, but she does not cross well on his stud, so she has to go. He's cutting back a few head from his mares, and there are a couple that don't cross well, so I had my pick, but this one is the only one that was ever finished and she is a big puppy dog and loves people. I will ride her this week when I go see her again, so we'll see. But most of the time, if they are truely broke that well, they won't forget. She may need a tune up, but if she can sit in the pasture for 2+ years and have babies and still remember what she learned, I'll be happy!!

It sounds good Candice !! And yes if they are well broke, its just a matter of reminding them !! Might take a couple of weeks to get her going good again but that should be no problem !! You say she is bred now ?? If so then there will be three to four months before she foals that you will not be able to ride her and some time afterward since she will be nursing !! What happens then ?? Will you keep her with you or did you say she was going back there ?? Who gets the foal ?? Are they keeping it even if she doesn`t cross well ??

I know I'll have to lay her off for awhile, but I figure for the right horse, I can wait! She will be here over winter, then I will send her back in March, she is due in April. She will come back after weaning. She does not cross well for them, but they are still able to get $2000 out of her weanlings. But if they put her on a different stud, they can get $5k, but that is an outside stud, so they want her gone. They have offered me to buy her at the set price now, and pay an extra $1000 in 6 months to keep the baby. It is very tempting, but I have to stick to my guns on my price I can pay. Darn husbands anyway Someone has to have a big foot to put down, and Lord only knows he's good at that!!
