Default 2009 Foaling Contest!

We've started up our 2009 foaling contest for our girls! We are expecting 4 foals in May (all due within 19 days of each other! *yikes!*) You can find details on the crosses and the contest on our foal page at: Lucky C Acres Miniature Horses - Breeders of quality AMHA/AMHR and AMHR Miniature Horses and then just email me your guesses (date you think each mare will foal, sex of each foal, color and pattern of each)

Have fun and can't wait to see all the guesses!

Like your website and you have some pretty mini's. Yours look like regular horses in mini form, whereas some of the minis that I have seen just don't look like a regular horse.
Which mares to which stallions? I don't have time to look through everyone and try to figure it out but like the contest idea.
I can't wait for my babies. One is due anytime. Both of my mares are bred to our paint stallion. One mare is foundation palomino and the other is foundation dun. I know that the babies will be paint as our stallion is a homozgous and I am hoping for a palomino and a dun paint baby. I want stud colts so I will probably have fillies and one of our outside mare owners wants a filly so she will probably have a stud colt. That is the way it usually happens.

Thank you, I'm not crazy about the extreme arabian style minis that seem to be the "in" of the show ring nowadays.. When I think of horse, I picture a quarter horse/stock type, not an arabian, so that's what I'm trying for..

Anywho, all the crosses are on the foal page of our website.. There's a picture of the mare and a picture of the stallion she is bred to, along with her 330 approximate due date..

I'm hoping for fillies this year, last year we ended up with two stud colts, and the appaloosa stallion we bred 3 of our girls to has only produced one filly out of 6 foals, so hoping for some daughters of his

very well put together website....I may try getting in on this. hehe

I'm just *now* actually really getting into horses. =]

I told mom the other day I wanted a mini horse and she just looked at me. hehe I think they're cute, much more manageable *feed wise* that BIG horses. I need a companion/show one for Razzy.

You're in Ohio?
Wow, small world...

Thank you! The more people playing the more it'll be!

Minis are sooooo much fun! We started out with trail horses, but I took a nasty fall off my trail mare oh gosh, been 8 years ago, messed up my knee/hip, so don't ride much.. About three years after that happened I came across a mini mare, a stallion, her current year colt and the possible foal she was carrying for sale as a package, and thought what the heck, always thought the minis were cute and would give me something to play with, planned on gelding the stallion for driving.. Ha, needless to say I got hooked.. They have soo much more personality than the big horses, much easier to work with (though they do have their days, especially the mares! lol), I could sit and watch them frolic and play all day :)

and yep, we're in Ohio too

Yes, I'll leave this open for guessing until March 30th..

However, there will be one less foal, unfortunately our mare Sweet Tart lost a gorgeous black appaloosa colt on Monday :-(

So sorry for your loss. We lost one last year and it still pains us. We have six TWH/SSH due May,June,Aug and Nov. We plan on sleeping at the barn so if any problems will be there. Was there for the first one last year and she needed help. I, myself, like fillies, and all have been colts. Maybe this year will get some fillies yet will take whatever we get so long as they are healthy. Take care

I'm so sorry about your colt.

The best of luck with the rest! I'll be watching to see the foals

I am so sorry for your lost. I checked out your website you have some beautiful miniature horses. I too lost a filly last Firday April 24 her name was Glory. I am still overwhelmed and so sad.

I am new to this forum I had 12 minis now 11. I just love them so much each one has a different personality.

I am not in the contest just wanted to say your minis are just beautiful enjoyed looking at them.
