Default pregnant looking mini mare...

I have a miniature mare who I have owned for about 2 years and in that 2 years she has never taken and acts in heat all the time. For the first year I owned her she was bred all that year by a proven blue roan stud with no success. Then the second year I bought a new stud and for all that year she was bred by him and STILL acts like she is in heat. BUT about 2 months ago she has been getting quite large and has the 'barrel' baby look and has never hinted of being in heat. So... can a mare take and be pregnant but still act in heat and get covered????? VERY confused here...

Yes, they can !!! In fact my mare is kind of like that !! Many show signs of heat through out the pregnancy !! First few months its ok but you really need to separate her and the stallion soon !! After about 5 or 6 months my mare stopped and was normal !! But some don`t !! I would have her checked to be sure if she is in foal !!

Yes they can act and even stand for a stallion when bred. So you need to watch for foaling signs if she is getting close to due date.

The problem is though...

I have absaloutly no clue when she (if she is in foal) concieved on! (spelling?) I mean, last year all year long she was always with my blue roan stud and all this year so far she has been with my new stud! and I know she has been bred alot cause every time I look out the window, There she is! being bred and acting in heat! But now for about 3 months she hasnt done that at all for 2 years!

What is that post above?????

as for signs of foaling, than look for swelling of bag and teets extending,
Perhaps a book explaining foaling and signs of foaling is in order.

ok so this is kinda another question bout my mare,
I was trying to feel for a baby by pressing on her sides (my other pregnant mares, you could feel a lump or something that felpt like a baby) but I cant feel anything! I think she might might be bagging up but cant tell the differance between a mares bag which is stretched or one thats bagging up!
any opinions?
