Buddysgirl you got to watch on the bear meat we have had 2 butchered before the first one was awful it was a bigger bear so it was older and the meat really stunk and was really greasy and stringy. I didn't even want to get the 2nd one butchered and waste money again but hubby talked me into it, it was a younger bear and it was excellent. It put venison to shame, you do want to cut the fat off of the meat before you cook it there is alot of it but it was really good. I heard the meat depends on the age of the bear and what the bear was eating as well for what the meat will taste like. We actually had the second one done this year and just had a Bear roast for supper. It is really like a guessing game on what the meat of that bear is going to be like I guess. They said one that eats berries and lives off of the land so speak instead of one that eats garbage will taste better.

Oh and another one that is good is wild boar, we just had a pig butchered and hubby got a wild boar so we had that butchered as well, and we both think that the wild boar is a better meat.

Wild hogs are good but the sow is better. A wild boar if an older one can be strong and stink. You want a young boar or a sow. We have wild hogs all over where we live. We have a bunch out at the ranch that we are going to start trapping and hunting next week as they are tearing up the mares pasture and the pond levee.
