I must be lucky. I have the most reliable farrier in the world. He even broke his neckand is left partially paralyzed in one of his arms and was right back to work a few weeks out of the hospital. He has to only real well mannered horses now though. I can usually call during the week, he'll call me back within 48 hours and be out that weekend.

You and me both UCM, my farrier makes the appt., shows up 15 min early for coffee. If we need him to come back, he usually does the next day. And if a shoe comes off before the next appt. date, that he put on, he comes back for free to fix it. He is also a fountain of information and had taught me alot. I love my farrier. Of course we are a big account also.

He is! He was here yesterday and one of the boarded girls here did not want her horses feet done because she has her own farrier, so today her horse has a loose shoe and she wanted me to call my guy, I did and he said "tell her to call her farrier", she did and he can't make it til next week, maybe. So she pulled the nail and left it that way. He does not mess around with the wishy washy type. And will not deal with the "know it all ones" either. If your horse does not stand nice and he has to wrestle it down, he will not do the feet. Period. I love that guy!

jeez
it took me TWO plus weeks to get ahold of my farrier
he came out today to do my horse's hooves. he said that his horses got into his wires and tore them up. LOL

but, he's pretty good. i asked a lot of questions today, and i was sure he was annoyed, but he didn't act like it. he's coming out sometime next week to ride razz [if he's feeling better]. buttttt, yeah

usually i got a hold of him easily, but since his house wires were tore up, i wasn't able to. i finally caught his posting on craigslist. thank gosh! i didn't really want to find a new farrier xD

Smile i know this is old but...

My farrier always calls back if he misses our call. And the funny thing is, if there is enough time in the day and if you have the money. He'll come right down and trim them up. And he's great with horses!!!
