Default Anyone sew?

Maybe not horse related, but oh well... I am making a wall hanging for my mom and I have the center panel pretty well done, but am unsure if I like the way it looks or if I should do more hand embrodery on it to bring out some of the main lines more. Most of the lines were done on my machine, but the eyes, nose and hair ties were done by hand. Oh, incase you can't tell, its a shih tzu.

One more question... I am looking for a decent pattern that will be challenging for myself, which one do you like more? I can't quite decide... The first one has panels with prints of cowgirls from the 20's.

Personally I think its adorable !! The one in paint is better to tell all the lines !! Having done decorative art for years, I don`t think it needs more dark if the shitzu is white, other than a tiny white in the eye to give sparkle !! If you are working on a white background just transition the next lines a shade or two lighter and finish with white !! You have two colors there, a black for the primary lines and it looks like a blue next !! By shading out you will get the effect of highlights and lowlights !! In other words if you are looking at the dog head on what is closest to you should be darker, nose eyes ect. and as you go farther back it would be lighter !! Shades of blue are usually what one uses with almost anything white !! If you do snow you shade with blue !!
I like the horse pattern but the peaceful dedication would be a fun one to do !! Horse pattern looks like work !!!
