Default Training

Well somewhere it was mentioned about sending horses off to training --- yes I do --- just certain horses give you that feeling that you don't want to end up on the ground --- my body is to old for that.

Then comes the horse that says here do whatever you please with me.

So today I decided --- if someone else can train a horse --- darn I can also. So I caught my Mustang --- we still are going through issues with that --- so this has now turned into an everyday training session. I did contact the BLM to see what I was doing wrong. They said "Nothing, some are just more hard headed than others and to work with him daily." So this is what I will do.

Then, I put a halter on my moms colt --- who has had nothing done to him for 6 months --- except daily dewormer. He was a pain to rope. Funny he would follow you all over like a puppy --- but try to put a rope around his neck to catch him --- Lordy be, the end of the world.
Yes, I let Baby grow up some first and be a horse. I believe they all need to be just a horse for a while and not pushed into every thing from day 1 --- I don't want another puppy. Really what baby has perfect manners and needs to be pushed and whipped into doing everything right --- NOT MINE.

Last, I hopped upon my Paint colt and got him moving around the round pen. Yiiiippppppeeee
I thought, hell I have laid across his back --- saddled and lunged him and sat on his back and he did nothing. Well today --- I rode him and he is a really smooth riding horse also. I mean I truly rode him --- (without a bit --- I no longer use them. I will post a pic of the bridle I use --- it is pretty neat and I have excellant control with it --- it is not a bosal or a hackamore).

So I have decided --- I am a horse rescue --- a horse trader --- now officially a horse trainer --- I mean, I got on the horses back and rode him without getting thrown off --- isn't that how it works - now I am considered a trainer?

Last but not least --- I also went on a 6 mile (round trip) ride and trained my horse how to not be scared of big tree stumps, or trash on the side of the road.

I'm a horse trainer, I'm a horse trainer --- yyyyyyyyiiiiiiiiiiippppppppppeeeeee yyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaa
:) :) :)

Okay, really, I still do not consider myself a trainer and believe me, I would not want anyone elses problems to work with --- but I do think I am doing fairly well with my own horses. Now if I have one that I feel uncertain about --- believe me ---- it will go to the real trainers.

Kris, yeah, it actually felt good, especially when I sold him a few days later for $500 -- making over half in profit.

Anger and jealousy can no more bear to lose sight of their objects than love.

The more anger towards the past you carry in your heart, the less capable you are of loving in the present.

Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. But anger is like fire. It burns it all clean.

If a man meets with injustice, it is not required that he shall not be roused to meet it; but if he is angry after he has had time to think upon it, that is sinful. The flame is not wring, but the coals are.

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. [James 1:19-20]

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. [Ecclesiastes 7:9]

And now for one of my favorites -- hubby likes this one also as a favorite. Yep, I live with hubby.

It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and angry woman. [Proverbs 21:19]
