Angry Sale gone haywire

I had 2 different people -a couple and then a big dude, want to come look at the rescued horses at the same time. I figured-no big deal, has happened many a time.
The couple gets there first and are looking real hard at a Belgian filly, and at a paint colt to purchase. They are almost ready to buy them.
The big dude shows up and had come to look at an entirely different 2 yr. old appy gelding.
Well, big dude starts taking pics with his phone of the Belgian and the paint colt. He says he sent them to his wife and that if the couple did not take the 2 horses he definately would. Well, the couple backed off since this dude was so interested and by now dudes wife had text him back and he showed it to us, she was all excited and wanted the horses.
Well, I also had a mule for sale that I had told the couple about and the dude decided he wanted to see the mule as well. We go over, he does the same picture thing etc... and says if the couple does not want the mule he would definately take her as well. The couple said since he was so excited about them that he could go ahead and make the purchase.
I'm think'in-COOL! I just sold 3 critters. The dude says he will go to the bank and get cash and go get his horse trailer and be back in an hour.
The couple kept looking at horses and told me what they really wanted was a mule or broke saddle horse, I let them know that I would keep my eye out for what they wanted and thanked them. All of us were excited about what just happened. They left.
WELL, an hour goes by and dude calls with a flat tire on his trailer. He asks if he can come the next day right after CHURCH. I said that would be fine, about what time should I expect him? He said, after CHURCH, about 2 o'clock, maybe 2:30. I say great, see you then.
Next Day: 3:30 rolls around and I call the Dude. No answer. I try again at 4:00, he answers and says he just has some yard work to finish up and he will be right over....huh? I ask, Do you still want all 3 animals? He says, 'Oh yes, definately!!!' He will be at my house within the hour.
2 hours later I call the Dude, no answer, I let 10 minutes go by and I call from my friends phone-no answer. I wait about 30 minutes and call-the phone has been turned off.
Well, never heard from the Dude again.
The ass, dude, lost me a sale total of $600.00. I had called the couple back to see if there was a possibility of them still wanting the 2 horses and they said no, BUT-
The couple did, however, buy the mule which belonged to a client. So now I am looking for a broke horse for them.
I HAVE NEVER HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN BEFORE-----WTF WAS HIS POINT?
I DON'T GET IT?!

Angry

Some people are just idiots!! Maybe he is just stringing his wife along, because she really wants a horse, but he doesn't. So, he goes and looks at horses for her, tells her some story of why the sale fell through, that buys him a little more time until she finds some other horses she wants to send him to look at. Believe me, I know some people who do this sort of assinine thing, but they've always stuck with houses or vehicles they could never afford. Sorry about what happened to you.

Thanks-
the first day or two it was a good thing I didn't see his big butt around town, I woulda had to throw a dirt clod at him, hit him with it the first throw [I have a bad aim] and then run like hell [I don't run very fast but I'm sure I'm faster than that big boy]. Not very ladylike but what the heck!

Talking look (out)for Tonyj

He must be the newest recruit. ... short story> A couple years ago, I was contacted...... even got as far as getting the check!> which I took to the bank, then the state police. My daughter mentioned it to her boss, (shes a racetrack groom) and he said,"we got one too!"... we work together, we live a 1/2mi apart...and she got as far as the check too......<added to the other check>.
We both had ads, not in the same place.. never did hear of the follow-
up.
If it sounds too good to be true.... keep testing it...

Buyers remorse maybe? He got home and started thinking about the upkeep on 3 equines.
Personally I think he was quite rude to but in when the other people were there first. They should have had first buying option since they were there first.

I lost out on a horse once because another lady was there first. seller told me if first lady didn't buy then I could try horse out. Sad thing is first lady did buy and horse is currently in a at risk situation and could be removed by animal services.

The couple probably didn't want the horses in the first place. If they had really wanted them they would have bought them no matter what the other guy said. If I go look at a horse & REALLY want it & I am there first, I'M GONNA BUY IT!!! Also don't set multiple appointments at the same time. You are asking for nothing but trouble! I would set them for at least 2 hours apart. That gives people enough time to look & make up their minds. And enough time for you to call the other appointments back if you should sell the horse. I hope this advise helps you in the future.
