Default Job Seeking

On 2 different Sundays I have spent a good bit of the day emailing my Resume to companies that requested that as a means of contact.
I have yet to receive so much as a Thank you for applying.

Wouldn't it be in order to take 3 minutes to reply and simply say Thank you for your Resume. We will be in touch if we choose you for a interview.

I'm not applying for things that I know I am not qualified for.

Most companies are rarely that polite !! I would take the resume` and hand deliver it to the personel director !! And tell them why you are doing that !! " My resume must have gotten lost in the mail" !! LOL

I turn in my resume or application and wait 1-2 days, then I call. I keep calling until I have an interview or I hear a no. I am very persistant. I have had people in HR tell me that often times they will not answer people who don't push a little to get the job because if they don't care enough to work to get the job what makes you think they will work hard once they get the job. That's just what I do though. Good luck!! I know the job market sucks now.

Smile job seeking

Candice is right again. Be persistent and hound them until you get a response. They may also be overwhelmed with so many applying. Don't give up the right one will come along. I'm lucky to have the job I do.

In the newspaper ads they do not give a phone number or even the name of the business. I assume because they do not want contacted in person or by phone.
It just states the nature of the job and to please email resume with email address given.
